Lynn Barnes

Hi there,

My name is Lynn Barnes.  I have 1 female dog that is 6 years old and her name is Charlie.  We got her when she was about 10 weeks old. She is a mixed breed. Charlie is part Border Collie, part lab with a little bit of Irish Setter in her. Everybody tells me that the color in her is the Irish setter in her. Charlie is a very hyper dog.  I guess that's the lab and Border Collie in her. She is a very friendly dog with adults and loves giving kisses. But she does not get along with children very well but I hope to improve that this summer hopefully! I have been a member of the Gas City Dog Club for about 3 years now and enjoy being part of it very much. I try to help out whenever or wherever I can. I also assist in teaching a Level  1--Obedience (Big dogs) Class and enjoy it very much. I have been in 1 Obedience Trial & 3-4 Agility Trials.  I also belong to the Flashing Canines Dog Club and enjoy that very much too. Like I said, I have been in 1 Obedience Trial but haven't earned anything because we still need a little work on healing (Both on and off leash) The Agility Trials that I've been in, we received place ribbons, and finally got our first Qualifying ribbon. I'm interested in all kinds of Obedience and Rally. Rally is good because it teaches Charlie other forms of Obedience. We are also interested in Agility because it keeps both her and I active. My future plans are to keep training Charlie in Obedience for as far as we can go. (It might take me awhile but I hope we can do it) We have been through most of the classes at Gas City Dog Club and right now I'm taking a class that might help me in future trials. Well that's it for now but all in all I can say that I love my dog and training is a lot of hard work but in the long run it'll probably be worth it. I've been told that since I first started training Charlie until now that she has changed a lot.

               Thank- you
