Rally Obedience is a type of dog sport based on obedience. It shares aspects of both obedience and agility. In this sport, the dogs and handlers progress through a designated course performing obedience commands based on the signs posted along the course. This course covers the basics of rally obedience, including a variety of commands and an overview of following directional signs through an obstacle course. In rally obedience, attitude is more important than precision.
Training Prerequisite: Dogs must have completed an introductory obedience course and the handlers must have a basic understanding of the directional and obedience signs used in Rally obedience. Handlers must be able to control their dogs. Dogs must be of sound body, have good joints and muscle tone. Emphasis will be on control, safety and fun; this course isn't a contest or a race!
What to Expect
Each drop-in Rally Obedience Session will provide the opportunity for participants & their canine partner, with instructor feedback, in a variety of Rally Obedience Courses of increasing levels of difficulty (10 – 20 signs), to achieve the goals of:

Registration Fee: $10.00/drop-in session or $100 for a12-session punch card
NOTE: In order to provide the best possible experience for dog and handler, the Gas City Dog Club reserves the right to control the number of dogs present in the training room during the drop-in session.
